Organza is a lightweight plain weave fabric that has a sheer texture and a matte finish. Organza sarees are weaved in low density due to this texture of the saree being transparent and air-light-fabric. The perfect fall of the saree is one of the key points of the organza saree. Traditionally, organza was made from silk. Due to the advent of fully synthetic fabrics, such as polyester and nylon, this textile can be made from other materials than cotton. Due to this reason the organza sarees are delicate in texture and can’t be washed in the washing machine.
